El Core i7 3960x fue lanzado hace poco más de un mes, recordándonos un poco lo que fue el lanzamiento del Core i7-2600k, habían muchos pronósticos, que tan solo sería un 2600k con 2 cores más, que su rendimiento no sería tan superior al anunciado, las nuevas quejas por la introducción de OTRO socket al mercado (LGA-2011). Pero también en el papel nos traía grandes novedades. Lo que primero que destacó, fueron las memorias a ambos lados del socket, la arquitectura quad-channel, su elevadísimo consumo y por supuesto, temperatura.

Llego el día del lanzamiento y no sólo cumplió, sino que supero las expectativas de muchos, incluyéndome. Un gran potencial de overclock, sumado a una gran potencia en bruto hace de este procesador y de su hermano menor el Core i7-3930K una muy buena apuesta de la mano de Intel para el segmento entusiasta. Veamos cómo se comportó este monstruito en nuestros laboratorios.
